Role overview

A leadership role managing data engineering teams that power detection engines, alerting, and case-management workflows for industrial control system telemetry. The manager will guide a data platform through active consolidation, including migration off legacy datastores, while shaping the analytics architecture for the next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, growing them technically and professionally
• Drive hiring and team scaling to align with the roadmap
• Own technical strategy for the data platform, including database version upgrades and migration off legacy datastores
• Partner with product and engineering to define data models, schemas, and analytics architecture
• Plan migration and reindex timing with product teams for customer-operated, on-prem deployments
• Drive performance optimization across the owned data platform
• Champion adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows
• Own production support for fielded deployments, including incident response

Requirements

• 7+ years of engineering management experience
• Management experience with Agile practices and cross-functional product teams
• Strong technical background in data-intensive systems, including PostgreSQL at scale in production
• Prior hands-on engineering experience with some combination of Elasticsearch, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Rust
• Direct experience leading a team through a migration off a legacy datastore (MongoDB, MariaDB, or similar)
• Experience shipping software onto customer-managed or on-prem infrastructure
• Daily hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools
• Comfort reading code and debugging production issues directly

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity, SOC, or OT/ICS domain exposure
