Job summary

Orrstown Bank seeks a Data Engineering Team Leader to design, deploy, and optimize the bank's data infrastructure, including pipelines, databases, and warehouses. You will architect ETL processes, collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders, and drive governance, quality, and security across data assets.

You will mentor junior engineers, stay ahead of industry trends, and ensure scalable, reliable data platforms that support analytics and reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; master's preferred.
• 7+ years in systems engineering with data solutions, banking/financial industry preferred.
• Strong SQL and relational DB experience (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Knowledge of data engineering, ETL, data integration, and data governance.
• Experience with Hadoop/Spark and cloud data services.
• Ability to lead and mentor a data engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, maintenance, and support of data infrastructure (pipelines, databases, data warehouses).
• Architect and optimize ETL processes for diverse data sources.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders for scalable data solutions.
• Enforce data governance, quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform advanced data modeling and database design for storage and retrieval.
• Lead performance tuning for scalability, reliability, and throughput.
• Stay current with data engineering trends and technologies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineers.
• Coordinate with IT to ensure integration with existing infrastructure.
