Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Data Engineering Intern at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will contribute to building and maintaining big-data solutions while learning to enhance data ecosystems and interfaces with BI tools.

The role offers exposure to PowerBI and SSIS, with opportunities to work across the software lifecycle and collaborate with engineers to tackle complex data challenges in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (EE/ME/CE/Software or related).
• GPA 3.0+ as a general rule.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand foundational concepts of data development and operational procedures.
• Understand production and operations issues as they relate to engineering.
• Work with team to develop scalable, extensible solution architectures leveraging big-data technologies.
• Exposure to PowerBI or other data visualization tool.
• Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Exposure to Airflow. Participate in design, code, test, maintenance, enhance and decommission phases throughout software life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues.
• Assist team to develop reliable solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity.
