Job summary

Qorvo, Inc. seeks a Data Engineering Intern in Bend, OR to analyze large datasets, surface trends, and build ML-ready features with Python, Spark, and AWS. You’ll help forecast and optimize models and collaborate with engineers to move prototypes toward production.

Ideal candidates pursue BS/MS/PhD in Data Science, CS, or related fields with a 3.0+ GPA. Proficiency in Python and libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy) and familiarity with SQL and Git are expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS/MS/PhD in Data Science, CS, Stats, or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).
• Coursework or hands-on experience in statistics, machine learning, or experimental design.
• Familiarity with SQL and Git; exposure to Spark or cloud platforms is a plus.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

are offered in our High Performance Analog, business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Explore and analyze large, complex datasets to surface trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.


• Build, train, and validate machine learning models to support forecasting, classification, and optimization use cases.


• Engineer features from structured and unstructured data sources using Python and Spark on AWS.


• Design and evaluate experiments, applying statistical methods to assess significance and model performance.


• Communicate findings through clear visualizations, written summaries, and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.


• Partner with engineers and analysts to move promising models from prototype toward production.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.


• Minimum GPA of 3.0.


• Proficiency in Python, including common data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy).


• Coursework or hands-on experience in statistics, machine learning, or experimental design.


• Familiarity with SQL and Git; exposure to Spark or cloud platforms is a plus.


• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
