The Role:
Our site in Aurora, IL is seeking a/an Data Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

Our team is looking for a Data Engineer Co-Op to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, implement and support systems for collecting, storing and analyzing data. You will work in a variety of settings building solutions to collect, manage and convert raw data into usable information for data science and analytical purposes. In this role, you will serve as a technical engineer utilizing tools (e.g., Python), data ingestion, testing, and deployment of data to the Google Cloud Platform to enable our digital transformation strategy. This will harness the value of data systems strategy and help us advance manufacturing operational excellence & customer engagement.

What You'll Do:
* Work with business experts and IT Business Analysts to understand functional requirements
* Interact with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and release features.
* Analyze and organize raw data into datasets for business needs.
* Build data systems and pipelines
* Develop algorithms to transform data into useful, actionable information
* Interpret trends and patterns
* Help provide analytic support with BI and Data Science technologies
* Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
* Be a member of Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production.
* Engage with business stakeholders to understand required capabilities, integrating business knowledge with technical solutions.

What We Seek:
* Familiarity with relevant languages such as Python, R, XML, JSON, and SQL
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn data pipeline tools
* Fundamental understanding of data models, data mining and segmentation techniques
* Great numerical and analytical skills

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
* Master's or bachelor's degree Engineering, Computer Science or Business discipline
* Graduating in 2026

Eligibility:
* Must be a currently enrolled student
* Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in July through December
* Must be familiar with the university's requirements to participate in a co-op program
