Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions that power critical business operations. You will work in a collaborative engineering team, applying your expertise across the full software development lifecycle to improve reliability and performance.

You will engage in agile ceremonies, contribute to code reviews, and leverage enterprise AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity while upholding security and quality

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Strong data modeling with ERwin, including normalization and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Databricks data engineering platform usage, ETL/ELT pipelines, performance tuning and partitioning.
• Proficiency in SQL with joins, analytics, window functions, and query optimization.
• Oracle experience: DDL/DML, PL/SQL, procedures/functions/packages, and performance tuning.
• Handling JSON and semi-structured data: parsing, flattening, schema evolution.
• Experience with Databricks Genie Spaces and ThoughtSpot integration to Databricks.
• Git-based workflows with Bitbucket and/or GitHub; comfortable with IntelliJ IDEA or similar IDEs.
• Strong problem solving and debugging across ingestion, transformation, and serving layers.
• Experience using enterprise AI-assisted development tools with critical evaluation of outputs for correctness and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, scalable software solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, architecture, operations) to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews to uphold standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment frequency and reliability.
• Contribute to technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools while validating outputs through peer review and testing.
• Apply SDLC tooling to improve automation and value realization.
