Job summary

Accrete is seeking a Data Engineer to join our government-focused data platform team in Alexandria, VA. You will ensure data is ingested, organized, transformed, and accessible to users and applications relied upon by mission staff.

You'll collaborate with data scientists, engineers, AI/ML teams, and government customers to maintain reliable data workflows, resolve data issues, and strengthen data governance across complex datasets in secure environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence or Lifestyle Polygraph.
• 3+ years in data engineering, data management, database administration, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Systems, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration workflows.
• Experience with Python or other scripting for data processing.
• Experience with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Understanding of data quality, data governance, metadata, and lifecycle management.
• Able to work independently while collaborating with technical and mission teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows to move and transform data.
• Develop SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data.
• Support data ingestion through APIs, databases, files, feeds, and other sources.
• Develop repeatable processes for data onboarding and integration.
• Monitor data pipelines and investigate failures, delays, and inconsistencies.
• Work with engineering teams to improve reliability and scalability of data workflows.
• Provide technical support to users of data management tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data is suitable for analytics and AI applications.
