Basic Qualifications

• Experience in installing, configuring and operating large scale enterprise class applications. Strong understanding of performance and scalability.
• Experience of implementing and delivering data solutions and pipelines on AWS Cloud Platform as well as on prem.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Red Hat-OpenShift environments for application deployment in cloud and on prem.
• AWS cloud experience with core services
• Understanding CP4D Platform, Services architecture plus security.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data structures, databases, and any one ETL tools (DataStage, SSIS, SAP DS, NIFI)
• Good foundational understanding and experience with any one relational database (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres etc..)
• Knowledge and experience of delivering CI/CD and DevOps, Github capabilities in a data environment
• Strong expertise with scripting languages Python, Java Script and at least one high level language (Java, C++, C, VB etc.)

The Senior Data Engineer for IBM Cloud Pak for Data will be a key part of a team that empowers Lockheed Martin to leverage data and AI to drive business insights, improve decision-making, and accelerate our digital transformation journey. This role is a blend Systems Support Engineering and Data Engineering, providing front-line troubleshooting, triage, and issue / ticket resolution for internal clients. This position may include occasional off-shift hours, including weekends, for priority support.
Core responsibilities will include:
• Software build and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Python
• Installing, configuring and operating large scale enterprise class applications, with an eye on performance and scalability.
• Implementing and delivering data solutions and pipelines on AWS Cloud Platform as well as on prem.
• Working with stakeholders, architects, vendors to resolve technical issues with large scale enterprise applications
• Application performance tuning, scaling, connectivity security, including cloud based infrastructure components
• Running tests/test scripts and troubleshooting issues
• Interpreting systems metrics for problem resolution
• Working in Agile (Scrum/Jira) fast paced environment
• Architecting application landscapes, solutions for deployment within LM

Desired skills

• Hands on Expertise in AWS Services EC2, RDS, VPC, Storage, IAM etc.
• Automated deployment in air-gapped, on-prem environments
• Knowledge and experience with Ansible & Terraform.
• ArgoCD experience
• Meticulous documentation skills
• Understanding of Data Lifecycle Management.
• RHEL scripting, Shells Bash, Ksh etc.
• Experience with JDBC, ODBC, Connectors, API based access. REST API calls.
• Experience with DB2 highly desired.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $93,200 - $164,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
