Job summary

Visa is seeking a data platform engineer to contribute to the design and evolution of our data platform, ensuring reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability.

You will implement and optimize streaming and batch data services for large-scale workloads, support production operations, review code, and collaborate with partner teams to deliver end-to-end data products.

This hybrid role requires 3 days in office and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
• Cloud computing skills (Azure/AWS) and hybrid designs
• Proficiency in Golang or Python
• Strong software engineering background building distributed systems at scale

This is a Hybrid position.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
• Cloud computing skills (preferably Azure/AWS) and hybrid designs
• Proficiency in Golang or Python

Preferred Qualifications

• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Strong software engineering background building distributed systems at scale
• Experience with modern streaming processing
• Data platform tooling: Terraform (IaC), Docker and Kubernetes (production) and Airflow (or similar orchestration)
• Observability and reliability mindset: Grafana, CloudWatch (logs, metrics, traces), on-call participation, SLA awareness
• Strong SQL skills
• Version control and CI/CD: Git/GitHub, pipelines (e.g. Codefresh) or similar
• Soft skills: clear communication, adaptability, self-management, critical thinking, collaboration.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $152,200.00 to $ 243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
