Job summary

Visa is seeking a senior data platform engineer to design and evolve scalable data services, pipelines, and monitoring in a hybrid environment. You will own reliability, cost efficiency, and performance for large-scale workloads, collaborating with partner teams and internal customers.

Required skills include Golang or Python, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and a strong background with distributed systems, streaming processing, and observability tooling. Three days in office are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years with an Advanced Degree or 11+ years with a PhD
• Cloud computing skills (Azure/AWS) and hybrid designs
• Proficiency in Golang or Python
• 9+ years with Bachelor Degree or 7+ years with Advanced Degree or 3+ years with PhD
• Strong software engineering background building distributed systems at scale
• Experience with modern streaming processing
• Data platform tooling: Terraform (IaC), Docker and Kubernetes (production) and Airflow (or similar orchestration)
• Observability and reliability mindset: Grafana, CloudWatch (logs, metrics, traces), on-call participation, SLA awareness
• Strong SQL skills
• Version control and CI/CD: Git/GitHub, pipelines (e.g. Codefresh) or similar
• Soft skills: clear communication, adaptability, self-management, critical thinking, collaboration.

What you will do:

This is a Hybrid position.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $152,200.00 to $243,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
