Job summary

Accenture Federal Services in the United States seeks a data engineer to build and evolve data pipelines that handle structured and unstructured data for mission-critical programs across defense, national security, and civilian agencies.

You will develop ETL code, ingest data from diverse repositories, and collaborate with data scientists to define formats and transformations that meet program objectives, while delivering clear documentation and robust data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing, optimizing query performance, and processing large volumes of bulk data.
• Experience working with and performing data modeling.
• Experience with software coding languages including at least two: Java, Javascript, SQL, Python, R or Bash Scripting.

Responsibilities

• Movement of structured and unstructured data using approved methods.
• Execute data ingestion activities for storing data in a local or enterprise location.
• Develop code to format data that supports exploration.
• Analyze source data formats and work with Data Scientists to determine formats and transforms.
• Develop code and tools to provide data extraction from repositories into enterprise data models.
• Develop ETL and perform O&M and enhancements on existing ETL code.
• Develop and deliver documentation for each project including ETL mappings, use guides, and access instructions.
