Job summary

Zipliens is seeking a Data Engineer to shape the foundation of its growing data ecosystem. You will design and maintain reliable data pipelines, optimize data storage and retrieval, and contribute to Zipliens information architecture to balance data security, data integrity, and report performance.

You’ll examine and model data to ensure that our systems and reporting deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong SQL and relational and cloud storage experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Experience with ETL tools and Python.
• Experience with data quality tools (Great Expectations, dbt tests).
• Version control experience (Git, GitHub).
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
• Familiarity with reporting/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database schemas for efficient data retrieval and storage.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes.
• Develop and maintain scripts for data processing.
• Ensure scalability and performance optimization of data pipelines and queries.
• Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring.
• Contribute to data quality standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with data analysts to understand requirements and deliver solutions for reporting and analytics.
• Maintain knowledge of Zipliens applications and systems.
• Design and build reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Document data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
