Job summary

Brite Consulting is seeking a technically strong Data Engineer to support data solutions in a complex federal financial management environment. You will design and build scalable data pipelines, perform transformations, and ensure data quality for downstream analytics and reporting.

You will work with Databricks, PySpark, and modern cloud data platforms while collaborating with engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, analytics engineering, ETL development, data integration, or a related technical field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, transformations, aggregations, and working with relational data.
• Hands-on development experience with Python or another relevant programming language.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, integrations, automated data processes, or backend data solutions.
• Strong understanding of relational data, data transformation, data modeling, and data-quality concepts.
• Experience with large and complex enterprise datasets.
• Ability to troubleshoot code, data pipelines, transformations, and data-quality issues.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data solutions supporting enterprise financial and operational processes.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, integrations, and automated data transformation processes.
• Use SQL and Python to integrate, transform, validate, and analyze complex datasets.
• Perform complex joins, aggregations, transformations, reconciliation logic, and business-rule implementation.
• Develop reusable and maintainable code for automated data processes.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise data sources into consolidated and trusted datasets.
• Analyze and reconcile data across systems to identify discrepancies and data-quality concerns.
• Develop automated data validation and quality-control processes to ensure outputs are accurate and traceable.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, code issues, performance problems, and data-quality concerns.
• Develop data models and curated datasets to support downstream reporting and analytics.
• Support migration of reporting and analytical processes to modern data-platform solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support Databricks and War Data Platform environments and BI platform integrations.
