Job summary

Red Hat seeks a Data Engineer in Washington, D.C. to build, operate, and maintain high-performance services for platforms and products.

You will write code to create and maintain enterprise data integration pipelines, improve systems, and collaborate on architecture with other engineers. You will diagnose production issues, handle software operations including monitoring and upgrades, and roll out new products for customer deployments while performing migrations to modern infrastructure.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Production Engineering and Data Engineering.
• Proficiency with Amazon Web Services and on-premises servers.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Bash, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana monitoring.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch databases.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 Certification (Sec+, CISSP, etc.) and DoD 8570 Computing Environment Certification.
• Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with CI Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Debug, improve, and optimize services and infrastructure.
• Reduce manual operations by automating processes, runbooks, and workflows.
