Job summary

CGS is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Business Intelligence team in Chantilly, VA. This full-time, mid-level role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models for federal clients to gain actionable insights.

The position requires US citizenship, ability to obtain Public Trust, and collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment using Python, SQL, and BI tools.

Qualifications

• US Citizen required.
• Public Trust clearance ability required.
• 7+ years IT experience with large data sets and models.
• Experience building data pipelines from varied sources.
• ETL development and validation experience.
• Data manipulation with Python, R, SQL, SAS.
• Strong knowledge of big data storage tools and technologies.
• Solid understanding of Agile and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to store, manage, and provision to data consumers.
• Actively participate in an Agile/Scrum team and follow Agile best practices.
• Write code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
• Support continuous automation for data ingest.
• Advocate lean-agile engineering principles (API-first design, simple design, CI/CD, version control, automated testing).
• Collaborate with program management and engineers to implement evolving requirements.
• Contribute to a customer-centric, innovative team environment.
