Job summary

Bloom Healthcare is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure powering the business. The role is hands-on, focusing on end-to-end data systems rather than single scripts.

You will own orchestration, integrations, and modeling with a strong emphasis on data quality and reliability, collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in math, biostatistics, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of data engineering experience building scalable pipelines and data products.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency.
• Experience building and consuming APIs.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow/Dagster).
• Experience building and maintaining dbt models or similar tooling.
• Experience with AI/ML models and data retrieval/cleaning.
• Ability to translate data needs to scalable technical solutions.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate data workflows in Airflow; ensure reliability and monitoring.
• Design integrations between internal systems and external services; automate processes.
• Build and maintain dbt models and semantic layer for trusted datasets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data needs into technical solutions.
• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot and improve pipeline reliability.
• Document data models, pipelines, and integrations for maintainability.
