Job summary

Critical Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to support our federal customer in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on designing, building, and sustaining secure data pipelines that enable analytics and informed decision-making in a mission-critical environment.

You will work with BI, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to modernize data platforms, ensure governance, and support DevOps practices. A Secret clearance and DoD alignment are required.

Qualifications

• US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Four+ years in data engineering or related field.
• IAT Level II certification.
• Experience with production data pipelines and data integration.
• Experience with cloud and on-prem data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across enterprise systems.
• Build data models, schemas, tables, and curated data sets for analytics and reporting.
• Develop data-processing solutions using SQL, Python, and other approved technologies; apply source control and release practices.
• Integrate cloud and on-prem data platforms with secure data movement across hybrid environments.
• Implement data-quality checks, monitoring, and remediation for data flows.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines and perform root-cause analysis for issues.
