Job summary

Zipliens is seeking a Data Engineer to help shape the foundation of its growing data ecosystem in Franklin, TN. You will design and maintain reliable data pipelines, optimize storage, and contribute to information architecture that balances security, integrity, and reporting performance.

This role requires collaboration with data analysts, product owners, and engineers, with on-site presence at least three days per week in Franklin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CIS/CS/Analytics
• 4+ years as Data Engineer or similar role
• Strong SQL proficiency with relational and cloud data storage
• Experience with ETL tools and techniques
• Proficiency in Python and data quality tooling (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests)
• Experience with version control (Git) and reporting/BI tools like Power BI/Tableau
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data services
• Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database schemas for efficient data retrieval and storage
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes
• Develop and maintain scripts for data processing
• Ensure scalability and performance optimization of data pipelines
• Build data quality checks and monitoring for data accuracy
• Contribute to data quality standards and best practices
• Collaborate with analysts to understand requirements and deliver reporting solutions
• Maintain knowledge of Zipliens applications and systems
• Design and build reports to provide actionable insights
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Document data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
