Job summary

Spear AI seeks an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting AI/ML operations. You'll work in a collaborative environment focused on national security projects and ensure reliable data flow for chatbot training and analytics.

The role requires strong proficiency in Python and SQL along with experience in cloud platforms. We're looking for individuals passionate about contributing to security-related initiatives while enjoying a flexible work arrangement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for processing large-scale datasets.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to understand data requirements.
  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure compliance.

Designs, develops, and maintains scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support enterprise AI/ML operations. Works with structured and unstructured data sources to ensure reliable data flow for chatbot training and operational analytics. Opportunity to work on real-world projects that directly impact warfighter capabilities and mission success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for processing large-scale datasets
  • Design data models and schemas optimized for AI/ML workloads
  • Implement data quality monitoring and validation frameworks
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to understand data requirements and optimize data delivery
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and implement performance improvements
  • Maintain documentation for data flows, transformations, and pipeline architectures
  • Support data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data handling policies
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related field

  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, etc.)

  • AWS experience highly preferred but not required
  • Military experience strongly preferred

This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is not eligible for overtime pay. Compensation for this position is provided on a salaried basis and is not subject to reduction based on hours worked.
