Job summary

Amazon in Austin, TX is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and operate large-scale data platforms for analytics, handling real-time and batch data ingestion.

You will build end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines, provide online reporting and BI insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data into strategic business decisions using AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis and Lambda.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

The AWS Marketplace team is looking for a Data Engineer to play a key role in building insights from our large and ever growing sets of partner and customer data. The Data Engineer will design, develop, implement, test, document, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics. Implement data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes leveraging AWS technologies and data tools. Provide on-line reporting and analysis using business intelligence tools and a logical abstraction layer against large, multi-dimensional datasets and multiple sources. Produce comprehensive, usable dataset documentation and metadata. Provides input and recommendations on technical issues.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
