Job description

Data Engineer, Management and Governance Manager (Accenture LLP; Detroit, MI): Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Data Engineer, Management and Governance Manager in Detroit, MI, and the job duties are as follows:

  • Analyze, design, build, test, implement and maintain multiple system components or applications.
  • Develop or update project plans for information technology projects, including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Maintain applications according to SLAs and manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle on engineering solutions for new system rollouts, major/minor enhancements, and/or ongoing maintenance of existing applications.
  • Design, architect, and code applications to functional and technical programming standards.
  • Develop system specifications and establish MLops/Dataops for complex systems.
  • Identify and assess complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors and create solutions for implementation by the team.
  • Supervise a team to gather and interpret user/system requirements into design specifications.
  • Conduct project and issue management (including status reporting, issue reporting, and ETC/budget reporting) for assigned scope of work and make decisions that impact the team through regular consultation with senior management.
  • Adhere to strategic direction set by senior management/client and prototype solutions.
  • Interact effectively with client or internal senior management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the IT consulting industry.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Designing and developing database components following SDLC best practices in healthcare payer industry;
  • Utilizing datasets in enrollment, Membership, Claims, Provider, and Finance within healthcare payer industry;
  • Working in cloud native development and cloud technologies, including AWS by utilizing DevOps and Agile methodology;
  • Coding and deploying applications using DevOps by utilizing GitLab, AWS, and Splunk;
  • Developing and maintaining applications, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) leveraging Scala, Python, PySpark, AWS, and Shell;
  • Working with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and RedShift;
  • Creating prototype solutions, and producing and maintaining data for machine learning and artificial intelligence applications;
  • Driving key delivery orchestration, design decisions, and suggesting improvements on ongoing issues;
  • Maintaining and processing Financial data sets within healthcare payer industry; and
  • Managing onshore and offshore delivery teams supporting critical applications.


Must have willingness and ability to travel domestically approximately 80% of the time to meet client needs.
