Job Title: Data Engineer Lead

Location: 3630 Hacks Cross Road, Memphis, TN 38125 (100% Remote)

Job Description: Under minimal supervision, supports the design, build, test, and maintenance of data pipelines at big data scale. Assists with updating data from multiple sources, ensuring data is formatted correctly for processing and analysis. Helps optimize the ecosystem and pipelines, troubleshoot performance and data-related issues, and provides Level 3 support. Independently implements parsers, validators, transformers, and correlators to reformat, update, and enhance data. Offers recommendations for complex problems and guides less senior team members. The Data Engineer Lead plays a key role in creating and driving engineering innovation within Dataworks, collaborating across IT, business, software engineering, and data science teams. They help define technical standards, work on data ingestion, transformation, and pipelines, and are involved in code reviews and deployments.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience. Experience required includes data analysis, use of agile and devops practices, Spark, HDFS, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, Python data tools, and knowledge of data engineering and machine learning frameworks. Leadership experience and strong communication skills are also required. Telecommuting from any U.S. location is permitted. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
