Data Engineer IV - IN

Work Location - Remote

Job Summary

The Data Engineer is responsible for managing and operating platforms such as Tableau, Tableau Bridge Server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS AppFlow, Power BI. The engineer will work closely with the customer and team to manage and operate the cloud data platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Level 3 operational support: troubleshooting incidents, collecting logs, cross-checking known issues, investigating root causes (e.g., failed batches, connectivity issues, network problems).
  • Create and update runbooks and entitlements as needed.
  • Monitor configuration changes to batches and infrastructure, document them properly, and ensure resource alignment.
  • Act as a point of contact for the customer, handling communications, escalations, issue isolation, and coordinating with off-site resources while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate on-demand changes and manage user requests, updating or creating knowledge base articles as necessary.
  • Perform incident and problem management, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend preventive measures such as enhanced monitoring or systematic changes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong hands-on experience with Tableau, Tableau Bridge Server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS AppFlow, Power BI. Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, configuration, management, troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly. Ability to work effectively in small teams and promote inclusiveness.

Job Complexity

This role demands extensive problem-solving skills, research abilities, root cause analysis, and resolution implementation. The candidate must prioritize issues and multitask efficiently.

Supervision

Works under moderate supervision.

Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, with 10+ years of hands-on experience in configuring and managing AWS, Tableau, and Databricks solutions. Experience with Databricks and Tableau environments is preferred.
