Job summary

National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) is seeking a Data Engineer Intern for its data engineering team. The role offers hands-on experience with data pipelines, cloud platforms, and real-world projects supporting enterprise software and data strategy.

The internship is hybrid across Cedar Rapids, IA; Lake Saint Louis, MO; and Mandan, ND, with a minimum of 3 days/week in office and potential for up to all five days. Summer 2027 (May–Aug) applications considered.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Java/Scala).
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in data science or computer science fields.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and big data tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building data pipelines to support analytics and development.
• Learn data architecture using AWS and Databricks.
• Collaborate with developers and data analysts on data needs.
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and documentation.
