Job summary

IBM Consulting FutureNow Center in Monroe, LA seeks an Intern Data Engineer to gain hands-on experience transforming data into insights, automating processes, and applying AI across client projects.

You will collaborate with experienced IBM professionals, work on data pipelines, modern data platforms, and enterprise AI solutions, and grow technical and consulting skills for a future career at IBM.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Interest in data engineering, AI, analytics, automation, cloud technologies, or digital transformation concepts.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts and languages such as Python, SQL, Java.
• Basic understanding of databases, data structures, data processing, analytics and how data supports decision‑making.
• Exposure to data preparation, transformation, visualization, analytics, or problem‑solving through coursework or projects.
• Awareness of AI, ML, Generative AI and their business impact.
• Experience through academics, internships, research, or competitions.

Responsibilities

• Support data engineering services and AI initiatives to improve business performance.
• Assist with designing, building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and platforms.
• Contribute to data preparation, transformation, validation, and quality activities.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends and insights.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams while learning cloud platforms and data architectures.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
