You have...

  • Developed and maintain scalable, high-performance ETL and data processing pipelines using Python, Airflow (Composer), and Dataflow.
  • Designed cloud-native distributed data processing systems that are optimized for dynamic scaling, high availability, and parallel execution, leveraging Kubernetes and operational tools to ensure reliability and observability in production.
  • Designed databases, optimize SQL queries, and implement efficient data processing patterns.
  • Worked heavily within GCP (Google Cloud Platform) utilizing services including Composer, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Kubernetes, and GCS.
  • Driven engineering excellence by maintaining coding standards and implementing best practices.
  • Have fun in an environment of collaboration, curiosity, and experimentation.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Language fluency: Python and SQL.
  • Confidence in building and optimizing streaming and batch ETL data pipelines and systems.
  • Ability to implement solutions running in Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers
  • Some experience making architectural decisions to solve problems in complex systems
  • Comfortable selecting appropriate technologies and data structures/stores depending on the use cases, experience weighing trade-offs.
  • Databases: Familiar with advanced SQL and relational databases, ideally in Google BigQuery.
  • Experience optimizing queries and writing DAGs to process data.
  • Impactful and effective: Continuously improve the code base and inspire others to do the same.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly when picking up new technologies, code bases, and systems.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively, and supporting the team as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience in Python
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL (BigQuery preferred)
  • 4+ years experience with cloud and/or big data systems (GCP preferred)
  • B.S. / M.S. / Ph.D. / A.B.D. in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a related degree, or other significant experience

Compensation Package

  • The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
