Data Engineer III - IN

Job Description Summary:

The Data Engineer is responsible for managing and operating on Tableau, Tableau Bridge Server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS AppFlow, Power BI. The engineer will work closely with the customer and team to manage and operate the cloud data platform.

Job Description:

  • Provides Level 3 operational coverage, including troubleshooting incidents/problems, collecting logs, cross-checking against known issues, and investigating common root causes such as failed batches or infrastructure-related issues like connectivity and network problems.
  • Creates/updates runbooks as needed and manages entitlements.
  • Monitors configuration changes to batches and infrastructure on the cloud platform, documents them properly, and aligns resources accordingly.
  • Acts as a point of contact for the customer, handling communication, escalation, issue isolation, and coordination with off-site resources while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinates on-demand changes with stakeholders and aligns resources accordingly.
  • Handles user requests, creating or updating knowledge base articles and runbooks as necessary.
  • Performs incident and problem management, root cause analysis, and recommends preventive measures such as enhanced monitoring or systematic changes.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Hands-on experience with Tableau, Tableau Bridge Server, Databricks, Dbt, SSRS, SSIS, AWS DWS, AWS AppFlow, Power BI. Proficiency in reading and writing SQL and stored procedures. Experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting these technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey technical information clearly and work effectively in small groups.

JOB COMPLEXITY: This role requires extensive problem-solving skills, the ability to research issues, determine root causes, and implement resolutions. Familiarity with documentation from Databricks, AWS, and Tableau is essential. Ability to prioritize and multitask is required.

SUPERVISION: Works under moderate supervision.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 8+ years of hands-on experience configuring and managing AWS, Tableau, and Databricks solutions. Experience with Databricks and Tableau environments is preferred.
