About The Role

As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our fraud prevention infrastructure by developing robust and scalable data processes and systems. Félix thrives on innovation and agility, where every team member has a high level of autonomy and accountability. Your work will have a direct impact on risk decision-making, helping us protect millions of Latinos in the United States by leveraging high-quality data. To be successful in this position, you must be passionate about building scalable data infrastructure, enjoy working with cross-functional teams, and be eager to solve complex data challenges. Your contributions will help drive our risk strategies and ensure that Latinos get the best level of protection against fraud and financial threats.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performing systems and processes to support risk decision-making.
  • Build robust data pipelines for real-time and batch processing, ensuring high availability and low latency.
  • Architect and optimize data infrastructure to efficiently store, retrieve, and process large-scale data for fraud prevention.
  • Implement data governance, quality, and observability frameworks to maintain data integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate risk data into backend microservices and APIs.
  • Establish best practices for data engineering, including CI/CD pipelines, data versioning, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with fraud prevention and risk analytics.
  • Strong background in building and managing scalable data infrastructure (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, and feature stores).
  • Experience with real-time and batch data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Beam, Dataflow, Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams).
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in data modeling and ETL pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and Dataflow (a plus).
  • Curiosity and/or experience in Fintech (a plus).
  • These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
