Job summary

CompassX is a boutique business and technology consulting firm delivering data-focused engagements for Fortune 500 and high-growth clients. This short-term, project-based 1099 independent contractor role focuses on building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses within the client’s stack.

You’ll design data models in Amazon Redshift, write production-grade SQL and Python, build Power BI data models, and collaborate with client stakeholders and CompassX engineers to ensure clarity,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IICS for data integration.
• Experience with Amazon Redshift as data warehouse.
• Strong SQL and ETL/ELT design fundamentals.
• Python skills for data engineering workflows.
• Ability to build Power BI data models for reporting.
• Excellent communication with client stakeholders.
• Pharma or life sciences familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using IICS into the warehouse.
• Develop data models and structures in Amazon Redshift.
• Write production-quality SQL and Python to transform, validate, and automate data workflows.
• Build and support Power BI data models for reporting to stakeholders.
• Implement data quality checks and validation logic across pipelines.
• Document data flows, models, and pipeline logic for handoff and maintenance.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and CompassX team.
• Work autonomously while staying aligned with the team.
