Data Engineer II (remote)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer II to join our dynamic and growing team. In this role, you will build data pipelines that support our discovery suites. You will create, maintain, and test code to generate discovery suites in accordance with acceptance criteria. Additionally, after deploying data, the Data Engineer will review and troubleshoot Data Quality Reports. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of healthcare data standards, especially in research and development. You will collaborate closely with our development, data science, clinical, and informatics teams.

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Develop and deploy data pipeline code to curate and process clinical data sourced from electronic health records
  • Troubleshoot problems, issues, and bugs
  • Complete routine coding tasks and maintenance
  • Implement designs developed in collaboration with senior engineers and stakeholders
  • Execute manual data deployment and updating jobs
  • Perform manual QA jobs and review QA output
  • Build monitoring jobs
  • Serve as a liaison for the Data Management Team
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for cloud-based solutions and processes
  • Stay updated on cloud technology trends and advancements

MUST HAVES

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in healthcare data or related fields
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Python and SQL
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience working in GCP and GitHub
  • Team player with collaborative experience
  • Willingness to travel to Denver, CO, approximately once per quarter (up to 15%)

NICE TO HAVES

  • Knowledge of BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) data
  • Experience in early-stage biotech environments
  • Knowledge of Microservices, APIs, and Automation tools
  • Experience with unit testing

  • Salary range: $110,000 to $130,000 annually, based on experience and location
  • Eligibility to work in the US; no visa sponsorship
