True Anomaly is seeking a Data Engineer I to join our team and build real-world data systems in a fast-paced startup environment. The role emphasizes Python and SQL, data pipelines, and cloud data platforms, with opportunities to learn and grow alongside senior engineers.

The position requires 0-2 years of experience, a CS/Data Science degree, and a willingness to thrive in ambiguity. Onsite presence is required at the Long Beach, CA or Denver, CO locations with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science or related field
• Excellent Python and knowledge of SQL
• Willing to work in a startup environment with ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and data products using Python, SQL and cloud data platforms
• Develop, test and troubleshoot data ingestion, transformations and workflows
• Apply software engineering practices including Git, testing, and CI/CD
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions
