Job summary

Evans Transportation Services, LLC is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data models powering analytics across the business. You will own end-to-end data flows from source systems to clean datasets used by analysts, data scientists, and decision-makers.

Hybrid/remote-friendly role in the United States, focusing on scalable batch and streaming pipelines, cloud data platforms, data governance, and observability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data engineering or closely related role
• Strong proficiency in SQL and programming (preferably .NET and Python)
• Experience with cloud data warehouses/lactehouse platforms and orchestration tools

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Model and structure data in warehouses and lakehouses to support reporting and analytics use cases.
• Integrate data from diverse sources: databases, APIs, third-party platforms, and event streams.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability through testing, monitoring, and alerting.
• Optimize pipeline/query performance and manage data system costs/scalability.
• Implement data governance, security, and access-control best practices.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to deliver usable data products.
• Document data flows, schemas, and processes for maintainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
