Job summary

Jain Global, LLC is seeking a Data Engineer in New York to design and implement customer-focused data products for hedge fund operations. You will build automated data quality checks, integrate data feeds from vendors, and collaborate with the Data Platform team to improve platform-wide utility.

The role requires strong Python and SQL skills, experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and hands-on work with data pipelines and observability tools.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc/PhD in CS, Physics, Engineering or similar; 4+ years in finance front office/quant or PM desk.
• Advanced Python with Pandas/Polars; Snowpark knowledge a plus.
• Advanced SQL; experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery; Parquet/Iceberg.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure; S3, RDS; Linux, Git, DevOps.
• DBT, Grafana/Prometheus, Datadog, or ELK familiarity for observability.
• Airflow and data pipeline orchestration; vendor APIs/SFTP experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement customer-centric data products by translating needs into scalable data solutions for hedge fund operations.
• Build automated data quality checks and monitoring with minimal business impact.
• Manage data feed integrations with external vendors and internal systems.
• Contribute to platform development; ensure telemetry, high availability and performance.
