Job summary

First Orion is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Data Engineering team to design and build data-driven products and services. You will work on low-latency APIs, ETL pipelines, and big data applications, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions.

The role requires 3+ years in data or software engineering, strong Spark experience, and cloud skills in AWS. A team-oriented, curious mindset is essential for long-term success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years in data or software engineering.
• 2+ years with Apache Spark (Scala or Python).
• 2+ years in AWS cloud services.
• Strong streaming knowledge (Kinesis, Kafka, 0MQ).
• SQL experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Self-starter with design, prototyping, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL jobs and analytics pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Develop low-latency, high-throughput REST APIs for call protection products.
• Author and contribute to Technical Designs (TDs) for projects.
• Create and maintain unit/integration tests for data-driven apps.
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize models.
