Job summary

Omega Holdings in Irving, TX is seeking a Data Engineer to support our corporate Information Technology department as part of a growth-focused team. The position is onsite at our Irving office and requires collaboration with US and Canada teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in CS or SE, at least one year of experience, and skills in relational databases, ETL, Python or Java, and reporting tools such as Jet, Power BI, or Tableau. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering.
• At least one year of experience.
• Relational database experience is required.
• Reporting experience (Jet, Power BI or Tableau) required.
• ETL experience and programming skills in Java or Python.
• From a development background in data engineering.
• Experience with onsite and offshore teams.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and manage time effectively.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex data intensive projects.
• Use Python and Spark; create reusable modules and components.
• Prototype, develop, and troubleshoot software in UI or service layers.
• Participate in technical discussions on UX, design, architecture, and development.
• Keep up to date with technology and apply new knowledge.
• Manage Github PRs and act as release manager for Data Engineering projects.
• Document technical project details.
• Collaborate with onsite/offshore teams and clear blockers.
• Follow established coding standards.
