Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Data Engineer – Domain Lead in New York, NY. In this hybrid role, you will shape the data delivery pipeline for a core domain, hands-on with Databricks on AWS, building from source to bronze, silver, and gold layers with outputs to S3.

You will oversee offshore engineers, collaborate with BI and data architecture teams, align domain structures with enterprise models, and own data quality, delivery, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, with mentoring or oversight of offshore resources.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and the medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
• Experience with AWS; familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses is a plus.
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling at the domain level.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data delivery for assigned domain(s), from source ingestion through bronze and silver layers in Databricks, with gold outputs landing in S3
• Manage and guide the work of an offshore data/BI engineering resource supporting the domain
• Ensure domain data structures and schemas align to the enterprise-wide data model, avoiding siloed designs
• Partner with BI engineering to support semantic-layer and reporting needs
• Track and manage delivery work in Jira or Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with the Senior Engineering Lead and other Domain Leads to maintain consistency across the data platform
• Troubleshoot data quality, delivery, and pipeline issues within the domain
• Help contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture
