Job summary

Citi is seeking a Sr Data Engineer, AVP, in Jersey City, NJ to contribute to data platforms and application systems. This role requires deep experience in ETL design, data warehousing, and software development across the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities include guiding development, ensuring security/post-implementation considerations, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions in a high-throughput environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming.
• Experience delivering successful projects.
• Knowledge of AWS, Python, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility studies, time/cost estimates, IT planning, risk assessment for applications.
• Monitor all phases of development and provide user support.
• Analyze complex problems and evaluate business processes and standards.
• Suggest security measures post-implementation for system designs.
• Collaborate with users/tech teams on solutions and SME guidance.
• Define operating standards and processes; coach junior staff.
