Job summary

SpatialGIS is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting analytics and ML initiatives. You will build ETL/ELT workflows, ensure data governance, and collaborate with data scientists to deliver reliable data solutions. Remote work is not available; travel up to 15% is required to Scott AFB or Norfolk bases.

The role emphasizes data modeling, warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and cloud technologies, with a focus on security, governance, and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and automating ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Active U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
• Experience with SQL, Python, and/or Scala.
• Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures; knowledge of data optimization, governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be able to work onsite full-time and travel up to 15%, primarily to Scott AFB (O'Fallon, IL) and/or Norfolk Naval Base (Norfolk, VA).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and automating ETL/ELT pipelines
• Due to federal security clearance requirements, this position requires active U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Active DoD Interim Secret or Active Secret clearance (or higher)
• Experience with BI tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies; proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala
• Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures, plus knowledge of data optimization, governance, security, and compliance best practices
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Must be able to work onsite full-time and travel up to 15%, primarily to Scott AFB (O'Fallon, IL) and/or Norfolk Naval Base (Norfolk, VA)

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
• Experience with USTRANSCOM systems, Qlik, the Advana tool suite, Maven Smart System, and/or Databricks
