Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Specialist Technology Team in Seattle. You will design and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, build a centralized data platform on AWS, and connect product usage signals to business outcomes across thousands of field engagements.

You will partner with scientists and engineers to ensure clean, well-modeled data and governance, enabling AI-driven agentic insights and scalable analytics for customer success at AWS.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 3+ years of ETL/ELT development for BI analytics.
• 3+ years of SQL experience.
• 3+ years of data modeling experience.
• 3+ years in a related occupation or role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting telemetry, usage events, and business data across the STT portfolio.
• Architect and implement a centralized data platform using AWS-native tech (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.).
• Build and maintain data models connecting usage signals to outcomes (content effectiveness → engagement → revenue).
• Develop data infrastructure supporting AI/ML pipelines and agentic systems.
• Implement data quality frameworks with automated monitoring, alerts, and validation at scale.
• Create self-service data products with clear SLAs, docs, and governance.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists and SDEs to provide clean data for evaluation frameworks.
• Establish data contracts, lineage, and catalog metadata for trust and discoverability.
• Operate with on-call support and monitor pipeline health to prevent data issues.
• Support evolution from dashboards to agentic data systems as foundational layers for AI agents.
