Job summary

Southampton FC is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer to own and evolve the club's cloud-based data platform, supporting performance analytics, recruitment, opposition analysis and sports science. You will build and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensure governance and data quality, and collaborate with Data Scientists and coaching staff.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable data pipelines in Python.
• SQL and data modelling fundamentals.
• Cloud-based data platforms experience (Azure or Databricks).
• Knowledge of data privacy, governance and quality standards.
• Collaborative with cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of sporting data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and configuration of the data platform for analytics and reporting.
• Maintain pipelines, ensure data quality and governance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, sports science and coaching teams.
• Maintain code integrity and version control using Azure DevOps.
• Provide documentation and support for the data platform.
