Job summary

Salma Health is looking to hire a Data Engineer to build the data backbone for a mental and behavioral health practice. The role involves creating and managing data pipelines and ensuring data is handled in a HIPAA-regulated environment.

This hybrid position gives preference to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, or Salt Lake City, although remote work is possible with regular collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and familiarity with AWS.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of professional experience building and operating data pipelines in production.
• Comfortable owning a request end-to-end from scoping to verifying completion.
• Solid knowledge of SQL including window functions and CTEs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the orchestration layer.
• Build silver and gold dbt models for data transformation.
• Operate the platform on AWS using ECS, RDS, and S3.
