Job summary

Capgemini in Whippany, NJ, seeks a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions for analytics and operations. You will build pipelines, data warehouses, and lakehouse platforms while ensuring data quality, governance, and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of data engineering, data warehousing, or data integration experience.
• Strong SQL and at least one programming language (Python/Java/Scala).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and modern data architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
• Data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build scalable data solutions to support analytics, reporting, and operations.
• Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage structures.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external systems.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse platforms.
• Implement data validation, cleansing, transformation, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure data integrity, governance, security, and compliance across platforms.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
• Automate data workflows, scheduling, and operational processes.
• Support data migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Product Owners, and Dev teams.
• Document data architectures, data flows, designs, and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices.
