Job summary

Develop, a rapidly growing technology and consulting firm, is expanding its US engineering team in Columbus. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines and analytics-ready platforms.

You will work on diverse projects, applying strong Python and SQL skills, modern software practices, and collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and clients. This hands-on role emphasizes delivering reliable data solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in Data Engineering or a closely related engineering role.
• Strong Python and SQL programming.
• Experience designing and building production data pipelines or data-intensive applications.
• Degree in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline with a strong academic record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines integrating data from internal and external sources.
• Build and contribute to data-intensive applications, products and platforms.
• Develop clean, performant and maintainable code, predominantly using Python and SQL.
• Work across modern cloud and data technologies depending on project requirements.
• Maintain and improve data quality, reliability and availability.
• Test and troubleshoot data products and resolve technical issues.
• Apply modern engineering practices including version control, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, data scientists, consultants and client stakeholders.
• Understand wider business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Continuously explore new technologies and approaches to improve engineering delivery.
• 3–6 years’ experience within Data Engineering or a closely related engineering role.
