Job summary

Washington Nationals is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to manage ETL pipelines and a data warehouse, ensuring scalable data flows across revenue and marketing. You will build dbt models, automate workflows, and collaborate with analysts and IT to meet analytical needs.

The role requires 2+ years in data/integration roles, strong SQL and Tableau skills, and a hands-on approach to data quality and governance. Onsite work in Washington, DC with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• U.S. work authorization required.
• 2+ years in a technical systems integration role with data infrastructure experience.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualization tool.
• Ability to extract insights from large datasets and summarize for leadership.
• Strong communication and ownership mindset.
• Office environment with occasional weekend/evening work.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor ETL pipelines and data warehouse using Airflow/Cloud Composer.
• Develop and maintain dbt models with automated data tests.
• Automate data workflows to reduce manual intervention.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data models with business needs.
• Identify enhancements for scalability, efficiency, and data quality.
• Analyze data with SQL, Python, and other tools to derive actionable insights.
• Monitor database/query performance for timely, accurate data retrieval.
• Work with external data vendors to triage data quality issues.
• Document ETL processes, data models, governance policies, and configurations (GitLab).
