Job summary

Amazon’s PXT Central Science team is seeking a Data Engineer to join a diverse group of economists and scientists responsible for accelerating science and analytics in our employee intelligence workstream.

You will design scalable data pipelines, productionize models via APIs, and collaborate across teams to turn data into actionable insights in Arlington, VA. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge big data tech and multidisciplinary problem solving.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with AWS services (Glue, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, S3).
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python/Java/Scala/NodeJS).
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
• Familiarity with non-relational data stores.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS services.
• Develop APIs and data serving layers for model productionization.
• Build feature extraction and data quality checks.
• Collaborate with economists, data scientists, and software engineers to translate requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Maintain layered data systems and automated reporting.
