Job summary

PowerToFly is expanding its AI & Data practice and seeks a Data Engineer III to drive client delivery on complex engagements. You will build data solutions using Python, PySpark, SQL, and AWS data services while coordinating with stakeholders across locations.

You will lead workstreams, map processes, and mentor teammates in a fast-paced environment with up to 50% travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years technology consulting in cloud modernization, data engineering
• 3+ years AWS-based data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms
• 3+ years AWS data services (Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions)
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, PL/SQL
• 2+ years leading, managing, and delivering workstreams or small teams
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on client needs
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Work you'll do

As a Data Engineer III on the AI & Data team, you will be responsible for driving technology-focused client delivery across complex engagements.

• Deliver client engagements focused on
• Manage day-to-day interactions with client stakeholders and sponsors, acting as the primary technical point of contact for your workstreams
• Lead teams through business requirements gathering, functional design, process mapping, and support-model definition, providing technical direction throughout
• Develop and maintain project scope, schedule, and resource plans for your workstream, and adjust them as engagement needs evolve
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with client stakeholders and internal engagement leadership

Qualifications

Required:

• 8+ years relevant technology consulting experience in cloud modernization, data engineering and business intelligence
• 3+ years of experience with AWS-based data lakes, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and operational data stores
• 3+ years of experience with AWS data services, including AWS Glue, EMR, S3, Athena, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, or Step Functions
• 5+ years hand-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, PL/SQL
• 2+ years of experience leading, managing, and delivering workstreams or small teams with complex technical engagements with resources in multiple locations
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related field
• Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

• Experience in creating critical collaterals for client workshops and customer interactive sessions
• Experience presenting technical content to both large and small audiences
