Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare in Chicago, IL is seeking a Data Engineer Associate to power data warehouse and analytics solutions across the health system. This onsite role combines data engineering, ETL development, and SQL-based analytics to deliver usable information for teams.

You will ingest, integrate, and curate data, build analytical solutions, and partner with architecture to design scalable data models. Salary range is $40–$56 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0–3+ years of experience querying, analyzing data, and/or data modeling/architecture.
• 0–3+ years of experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines.

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is looking for a Data Engineer Associate to help power data warehouse and analytics solutions across the health system. This onsite role in Chicago, IL combines data engineering, ETL/data pipeline development, and SQL-based analytics so teams can access consistent, usable information. Salary range: $40–$56 per hour.

What you’ll do

You will deliver data warehouse and analytic solutions by ingesting, integrating, and curating data, building analytical solutions, and administering systems to provide information to the health system. You will also apply relational database skills to support data consumption and collaboration across teams.

• Ingest, integrate, and curate data to support analytics and information delivery across the organization
• Use SQL to extract and manipulate data, including the ability to create queries and stored procedures
• Partner with the Architecture team to design and execute solutions
• Ensure new and existing data models and databases align with approved data architecture standards
• Create, document, and communicate the integration approach for solution components
• Define key solutions and manage them for consumption by users and across teams
• Research and analyze capabilities to propose solution alternatives for specific business needs and product or service strategies
• Assist with ETL design and development, including data analysis, source-target mapping, quality profiling, change data capture, and code performance
• Evaluate data quality and interpret results clearly and concisely
• Document programming changes, design decisions, and system modifications for ongoing maintenance

Skills and experience

• 0–3+ years of experience querying, analyzing data, and/or data modeling/architecture
• 0–3+ years developing and maintaining ETL or data pipelines (example tools: Microsoft SSIS, Azure Data Factory)
• Experience using SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting
• Relational database skills including the ability to build queries and stored procedures
• Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Crystal Reports, and SSRS
• 0–1 years advanced proficiency in Python, with demonstrated work experience developing data solutions using Python
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
