The Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) team owns all the software and infrastructure powering Amazon's fulfillment engine. Our team in Seattle builds complex, massive data systems to capture data at every step of the automated pipeline, using that data to proactively predict efficiency and cost improvements to deliver packages quickly to our customers.

Key job responsibilities

As an Amazon.com Big Data Engineer, you will work in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You should be skilled in designing DW solutions across multiple platforms (RDBMS, Columnar, Cloud). You will manage large datasets, collaborate with business owners to develop key questions, and build data sets to answer those questions. You should be passionate about working with huge data sets and integrating data to drive business decisions.

You will develop new data engineering patterns leveraging a cloud architecture, extend or migrate existing data pipelines, and assist with integrating Redshift as the primary processing platform. You will design and implement complex ETL pipelines to support business demands and deliver data as a service to influence decision-making at Amazon.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network through software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, and people to ensure timely delivery to customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, IAM
• Experience with non-relational databases (object storage, document, key-value, graph, column-family)
