Job summary

Safran is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Rochester, NH team, building and maintaining data pipelines and systems for 3D woven composite engine components. You will support deployment of software solutions and collaborate with multi-cultural teams to ensure data availability, reliability, and performance.

This first-shift role runs Monday–Thursday, 7am–5pm, and requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in data engineering, plus strong Python/Java/SQL skills, ETL tools, data modeling, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience with ETL tools and data warehouses.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines.
• Develop ETL processes to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Design and maintain data models, schemas, and DB structures.
• Optimize storage/retrieval for performance and scalability.
• Evaluate storage solutions: relational, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud.
• Build integrations with internal/external data sources and APIs.
• Implement RESTful APIs for data access.
• Ensure interoperability between systems.
• Configure data infra: databases, warehouses, data lakes.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, optimize reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists/analysts to meet needs.
• Document designs and workflows for knowledge sharing.
• Provide guidance and support to teammates.
• Create visual management standards to communicate performance.
• Support Digital Transformation projects and risk management.
