At Atlassian, a New Graduate in Data Engineering will join our Seattle team to build and improve data pipelines, metrics, and insights that support product decisions. You will work in a mentorship-driven Grad++ program designed to accelerate technical growth and exposure across teams.

Responsibilities include defining data metrics, instrumenting logs, transforming data, and ensuring data quality and governance while delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in CS or a related technical field and graduating by August 2027.
  • Demonstrated interest in Data Engineering through coursework, work, internships, or personal projects.
  • Experience programming with Python or other object-oriented languages.
  • Knowledge of data structures and how to apply them to data challenges.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases experience.
  • Huge Plus: SaaS business knowledge or enterprise software development experience.

Your Future Team

As a New Graduate in our world-class Data Engineering team, you'll influence product teams, inform Data Science and Analytics Platform teams, and partner with data consumers and products to ensure quality and usefulness of data assets. You will help strategize measurement, collecting data, and generating insights.

This work will help understand and improve product experience and engagement, improve efficiency and costs, and guide strategy. You'll report to a Data Engineering Manager, and learn from your team mentor who are some of the best Data Engineers in the business.

Data Engineering is a multi-faceted role, where you can have focused or broad set of responsibilities, including:

  • Define metrics
  • Instrument logging
  • Transform data
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and enablement
  • Alerting, visualization, and reporting
  • Develop at scale and improving efficiency

In The United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $124,200 - $162,150

Zone B: $111,780 - $145,935

Zone C: $103,086 - $134,585

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or a related technical field and are graduating by August 2027
  • Demonstrated interest in the Data Engineering field through academic coursework, previous work or internship experience, or personal projects
  • Experience programming with Python, or other related object-oriented programming languages
  • Knowledge of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to meet data challenges
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases experience
  • Huge Plus: An understanding of the SaaS business model or experience in Enterprise Software product development
